JOSHUA - Esther Jackson, 88 of Joshua, a retired hair stylist and part owner of the Joshua Beauty Shop, died Monday Sept. 15, 2008 in Cleburne. Graveside Service: 10:00 A.M. Wed. Sept. 17, 2008. Interment: Greenacres Memorial Park in Cleburne. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Joshua youth mission fund. Esther Varnell Jackson was born October 15, 1919 in Cleburne to William Joseph and Malda Josephine Cashion McCoy. She married Milton Ray Jackson on Oct. 5, 1946 in Galveston. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Joshua. Mrs. Jackson was a Sunday School Teacher for many years, very active in her Sunday school class, as the Social Chairman, and past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Dora Royalty and Opal Brawner; brothers, Everett and Dewey McCoy. Survivors: Brother, Jack McCoy of Oklahoma City, OK.; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
