Eugene Austin Gantz

Eugene Austin Gantz was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on February 23,1929 to Kenneth Carlton Gantz Sr. and Jessie (Mobley) Gantz. He passed away peacefully surrounded by Family on Saturday Afternoon December 30, 2023. Heaven is now his home.

Gene, as most of his friends called him, grew up in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He joined the United States Air Force in 1956. While serving in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he would meet and marry his beautiful bride Lillie Ussery. They were married on May 6, 1959. He would retire from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service in 1976. They would move to Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Gene and Lillie both worked at The Royal Burger where he was the General Manager of several locations in Sapulpa and Tulsa. He would later work as a Security Guard at Oral Roberts University. Gene and Lillie would move to Mt. Vernon, Arkansas and then to Burleson, Texas as their final homestead.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Jessie Gantz, and all of his siblings Mary Gail Gantz, Pauline Gantz, Virginia Jean Gantz, Marguerite James, Leona Lee Allen, Logan Gantz, Kenneth Gantz, and Hazel Minnick.

He is survived by his wife Lillie Gantz and his four children: Darrell Gantz and wife Marta of Sapulpa. Oklahoma. Sandy Gantz of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Frank Gantz and wife Cindy of Burleson,TX and Lori Hurst and husband James of Rio Vista, TX.

He had an amazing group of grandchildren: Darren Gantz and wife Melissa and their son Alex. Tara Heisey and husband Dennis and their children Anna, Adam, Joshua and Zaine Greg Graham and wife Charlin and their children Kolin and Kyler. Jennifer Graham and children Kody, Kolton and Krislynn. Cameron Gantz and wife Jessi. Leah Gantz and children Heath and Caleb. Carlton Gantz and wife Amanda and their children Emma and Ellie. Bethany Gantz, Jamie Johnson and husband Sam and their children Layton and wife Shelbie, Caden Johnson and wife Karson and their daughter Arden. Amy Johnson and husband Justin and their children Paisley and Knox. Jonny Hurst and wife Kelley and their daughter Sutton.

Faith and Family were always his greatest joys!
