BURLESON -- Faustina "Tina" Walton, 90, of Burleson died Saturday, April 9, 2011. Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burleson. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua. Tina was born to Charles and Mary McAnally on Feb. 24, 1921, on the family farm in Norton County, Kan. She moved with her family to Waverly, Kan., where she graduated from high school in 1939. In 1941, they moved to Riverside, Calif., where she met Wayne Walton, whom she married June 5, 1943. Tina was employed at Rouses Department Store in Riverside while Wayne served in the U.S. Army in Europe. After the war they settled into their first home in Ontario, Calif., and started their family. Wayne's job took them across the country, from California to Nevada to Kansas and finally in 1963 to Norfolk, Neb., where Tina worked for 20 years as an administrative assistant for Nebraska Public Power. She and Wayne retired in Rogers, Ark., where they were active in the American Legion, the Military Order of the Purple Heart and First Presbyterian Church. They moved to Burleson in 2000. Tina was devoted to her friends, family and church, and because of the kindness in her own heart, always saw the good in everyone else. Her family is deeply grateful to her caregivers at Avalon Alzheimer's Center in Arlington and to the hospice nurses who supported her during her final days. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Walton; and son, Lon McAnally. Survivors: Daughter, Chris Lanman and husband, Jack, of Burleson; sons, Keith Walton of Douglas, Wyo., and Rex Walton and wife, Joy, of Lincoln, Neb.; grandchildren, Anthony Lanman, Tina Walton, Andrew Lanman, Amanda Henderson, JoRenae Tupper, Jeffery Folsom and Misty Black; and 10 great-grandchildren.
