Faye Russell Evans

Faye Russell Evans, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on October 15, 2007, in Johnson City, Tennessee, at the age of 88. Graveside Service: 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 20, 2007. Burial: Bethesda Cemetery in Burleson. Visitation: 9:00 -10:30 A.M. Saturday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Burleson. Memorials: Meals On Wheels of Johnson County 106 E. Kilpatrick, Cleburne, Texas 76031. She was born in Johnson County, Texas, on May 16, 1919, the second child of Roy Clyde and Nettie Jewel Russell. She attended Cahill School and graduated from Alvarado High School. She married the love of her life, Malcolm Ned Evans, on December 23, 1939, and the couple shared more than 56 years together before his passing in 1996. Through the years, they were blessed with two sons, Michael Russell Evans and Samuel Ned Evans, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Evans made their home in Dallas for more than three decades and were active members of First Baptist Church. During that time, Mrs. Evans enjoyed a rewarding career with Southwestern Bell. She and her husband moved to Temple in 1984, and she subsequently moved to Northeastern Tennessee in 1998. She will be terribly missed by the remaining members of her family, all of whom she touched with her fun-loving and deeply caring nature. Her survivors include her sons, Michael Russell Evans and his wife, Elizabeth Palacio Evans, of Dallas, Samuel Ned Evans and his wife, Sue Johnson Evans, of Johnson City, Tennessee; her five grandchildren, Carrie Evans of Austin, Hannah Wade and her husband, Paul, of Flint, Michigan, Ellen Troyer and her husband, Karl, of Weaverville, North Carolina, Laura Brown and her husband, James, of Johnson City, Tennessee, and Michael Evans of New York, New York; eight great-grandchildren, Sam, Joe, Ben, and Will Wade, Hadley, Josey, and Knox Troyer, and Evan Brown; two sisters, Yvonne Jackson of Burleson and Bobbie Broumley of Oceanside, California, one brother, Steve Russell and his wife, Erin, of Stephenville; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Russell of Fort Worth and Betty Russell of Cleburne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
