Flora (Holtkamp) Leverett

Flora Holtkamp Leverett was born on September 15, 1926, to William and Emma Holtkamp in McGregor, Texas.  She passed away peacefully August 27, 2022 and was escorted by the angels to her heavenly home, surrounded by her family.

Flora grew up on the Holtkamp Farm with her parents and 7 siblings, moving to Justin when Flo was 6 years and attended school in Justin, and graduated high school there.  She played volleyball and was an accomplished student.

On June 30, 1945, she married Louis Franklin Leverett in Johnson County.  Flora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.

Flora was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, in 2015, her son, Steven, in 2000, her parents, and 6 of her siblings.  She is survived by 4 children:  Pat Bandy of Burleson, Don Leverett and wife, Gay, of Crowley, daughter Denise Shook and husband, Allen, and daughter, Pam Millsap of Rio Vista, and sister, Vernita Weithorn of McGregor.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will miss her very much.
