Galen Martha Caroline Humphries

Galen Martha Caroline was born on May 5, 1931, in McGregor, Texas to Alvin and Lydia Lehrmann. She passed peacefully in her home on Tuesday November 8, 2022. She was 91 years young. Galen has a daughter Shirley Ann of Joshua, brother Garland Lehrmann of Brownwood, Sister Ruby Shuler of Crowley, brother Pete Lehrmann of Fort Worth and sister Joyce Pike of Burleson.

Galen was a homemaker for most of her adult life and a housekeeper for Holiday Inn for many years where she received a Recognition of Achievement award for her hard work. She enjoyed sewing and crafts. Galen was an avid collector of porcelain dolls, and if there was a cat within a 20-mile radius it found its way to her, and she fed it! No one on this earth that came over could possibly go hungry as Galen would open every can of vegetables she had to put on the table… not to mention mash potatoes and sweet rice with just about every meal. Fried spam and bologna sandwiches were pretty much a staple at mealtime. One of her favorite dishes to prepare was banana pudding from scratch. It was good too!

Galen is survived by her daughter Shirley and husband Jim Hadley of Joshua. Grandchildren Shawn Hadley of Joshua, Dana and Fiancé Sharon McFall Hadley of Burleson, Cody Waits of Burleson, Sharon and husband Robert Brannon of Joshua/Red River, Sheila and husband Brian Evans of Joshua, Casey and wife Joy Waits of Cleburne, Sara Hadley of Joshua and Nakia Codie of the Dallas Cowboys. Galen has 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and 1 baking in the oven.

Galen was preceded in death by her husband JD of 54 years and her granddaughter Jessica Dyan. As well as many loved ones.
