Glenn "Barney" Barnett, 74, of Burleson, passed away Tuesday, October 23, in Ft. Worth, after a three month battle with West Nile Virus. Service: 10AM Friday, October 26, at Oak Grove Baptist Church of Burleson. Visitation: 6-8PM Thursday, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Burial: Tye Cemetery. Glenn was born December 9, 1937, in Sanger, to Charlie Boyd and Lorene Harvey Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Wanda Lee Barnett. Family was the most important thing in Glenn's life. He worked for many years as a shop fabrication foreman for Gearhart-Owen Industries, retiring from Halliburton. Glenn was a Baptist, and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and loyal friend to many. An avid Baseball fan, he also enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and building rifles. Survivors: wife, Lanelle Barnett, of Burleson; daughter, Shellye Goines, and husband Gary, of Burleson; son, Bruce Barnett, and Sarah Bothwell, of Port Aransas; grandsons, Chantz Hanson, and special friend, Cassie Garcia, and Bobby Barnett; granddaughters, Brandye Hanson, Brittany Barnett, Chelsea Goines, Courtney Goines, Carly Goines, and Payton Goines; loving extended family and numerous friends.
