JOSHUA -- G.R. "Red" Russell Jr., 81, a retired business owner, died Friday, March 2, 2007, in Fort Worth. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday, Greenacres Memorial Park in Cleburne. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Red was born May 1, 1925, in Burleson to George R. Sr. and Rhoda B. Hildebrand Russell. He married Mildred Loraine Pearson Sept. 8, 1951, in Fort Worth. Red proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth Lynn Russell; brother, David Lynn Russell. Survivors: Wife of 55 years, Mildred L. Russell of Joshua; son, Victor W. Russell and wife, Karmen of Cleburne; daughter, Christine Gonzalez and husband, Simon of Boone, N.C.; sister, Doris French of Joshua; brother, Jack H. Russell of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Amberly Russell, Emily Russell, both of Denton, Catherine Gonzalez of Boone, N.C.; grandsons, Jay Robert Russell of Arlington, Philip T. Gonzalez of Boone, N.C.; and step-granddaughter, Bailey Hendricks of Cleburne.
