BURLESON -- H. Harvey Moon, Jr., 76, passed away November 1, 2012. Service: 1:00 PM, Monday, November 5, 2012 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Burleson. Interment: Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation: 2-4 PM, Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Harvey was born July 15, 1936, in Post, TX to Henry Harvey, Sr. and Beatrice Jenkins Moon. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Harvey grew up in Houston. He served in the US Goast Guard before graduating from the University of Texas with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Professionally, Harvey served as a System Safety Engineer for several of DFW's top engineering projects to include: DFW Airport's Air Trans system, General Dymanic'c F-16, and DART's Light Rail Sytem. Harvey grew-up singing gospel and playing guitar. As a teen in Houston, he played on local radio stations and and at fairs. As an adult, he always had a guitar close by picking with friends, playing at local schools & nursing homes, and while being active in his church's music program. Harvey was a member of the Oak Grove Church in Burleson. Survivors: wife, Gwen Moon of Burleson; sons, Randall Moon of Tulsa, Cary Moon and wife, Alisha of Fort Worth; daughter, Rhonda Lambert of Fort Worth; step-daughter, Tracie Tucker and husband Ernie of Bryant, Ark.; brothers, Wyman Moon of Houston, Marion Moon of Fannett; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
