H.M. "Barney" Barnhart, 85, of Grandview, a retired letter carrier for the Post Office in Fort Worth, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Burleson Church Of Christ. Interment: Poe Prairie Cemetery, Millsap. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Boy Scouts Of America, in memory of Harold Barnhart. Harold Max Barnhart was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Monon, Ind., to Lloyd and Gladys Ellen Botts Barnhart. He married Barbara Jean Rainbolt on Sept. 25, 1943, in Hammond, Ind. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a Boy Scout volunteer for 50 years and was second to receive the Woodbadge Award of the year in 1976 and first to receive the Legacy Award in 2006. He was a member of Covington Church of Christ. Survivors: Wife of 67 years, Barbara "Bobbie" Barnhart of Covington; son, Michael David Barnhart and wife, Ingrid, of Grandview; daughters, Barbara Warren Norvell and husband, James, of North Richland Hills and Virginia Barnhart Faver of Grandview; brother, Delbert Barnhart and wife, Georgia, of Mission; sister, Alma Spencer and husband, Dallas, of Wirth, Ark.; grandchildren, Eric Byron Pruitt, Lindsay Savage, Zachary Warren and Julie Faver Dylla; and great-grandchildren, Austin Savage, Jonathan Stover, Kayley Stover and Nicole Stover.
