Helen McCravey Miller, 91, of Weatherford, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020.
Her funeral will be held at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, 3407 SW Wilshire Blvd in Joshua, Tx. at 10:00am on Saturday August 22, 2020.
She will be laid to rest later that day at the Lakeview Cemetery in Floyd County (1 hour NE of Lubbock, Tx.) where both of her parents, one brother and several relatives preceded her in death.
Helen was born April 29, 1929 to John Roy McCravey & Nola Mae Fulton McCravey in Taft, California, but they relocated to Texas soon after. She was the youngest of four children. She was married to Franklin Eugene “Gene” Miller from 1950 until their divorce in 1980. She was a smart business woman and a world traveler. Living in Dallas most of her adult life, she worked in the banking industry and progressed from secretary to vice president in the commercial loan division of what is now Chase Bank. Being forever honest and a no nonsense business woman, her senior bosses often admiringly quipped when Helen was walking towards them…”There comes Helen, 90 lbs of stepping hell.” She loved her family and will be missed terribly.
She passed peacefully in Weatherford, TX where she lived for four years. Helen is survived by her son Bret and daughter-in-law Pam Miller, both of Clifton, Tx, her daughter Tracy Miller Brown of Pompano Beach, Fl., four grandchildren, Grant Miller, Madison Miller, Ryan Brown and Kristen Brown, two step-grandchildren Sarah Buller and Sharon Livesay, Sharon's husband Steven Livesay and seven great-step-grandchildren Megan, Chris, Matt, Trevor, Cole, Alexandra and Cora.
Helen was part of the greatest generation America will ever know. She will now be with God forever.
