Helen Wood, 95, of Crowley, Texas passed away peacefully on September 28, 2023.

Helen Lucille Wood was born to the late Terry W and Bessie Sawyer on December 25,1927, in Hamlin, Texas. She was raised in Hillsboro, Texas with four brothers.  She graduated in 1945 from Hillsboro High School. She married Tommy Dan Wood in 1948 and raised three children while living in Fort Worth and Crowley.

Helen was a 50-year member of Eastern Star and was a faithful Christian.  The family attended Worth Baptist for many years where she became involved in being a hearer and camp counselor for the Bible Memory Association.  She and Dan joined South Park Baptist Church and served there for more than 20 years.

After retiring from being Chief Court Clerk for Justices Sheffield and Millirons she and Dan traveled and enjoyed family and friends.  They had very close relationships with their siblings and their spouses.

Helen is survived by her children, Larry Wood and wife Ann Wood, Linda Campbell and husband Rick Campbell, Steve Wood, and wife Kay Wood. Grandchildren, Laura Skipper, Angie Wood, Carrie Gerdes, Mandy McLaurin, Kassie Morell, and Tommy Wood; 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
