Huey Pierce Tarver

BURLESON -- Huey Pierce Tarver, 72, of Burleson, a retired firefighter for the city of Fort Worth, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at his residence. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Marystown Cemetery, Burleson. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Huey Pierce Tarver was born Nov. 2, 1938, in Burleson to George Thomas and Crecie Mae Vickers Tarver. He graduated from Burleson High School in 1957. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He married Maudie Lee Holmes on April 11, 1964, in Fort Worth. He was a Baptist. Survivors: Wife of 46 years, Maudie; son, Howard and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Debbie Crowder and husband, Tonka; granddaughter, Whisper, who was the shining star of his life; and brother, Johnny.
