Irving H. "Tooter" Sanders, 86 of Joshua, a retired maintenance worker for the Joshua I.S.D. died Sunday Jan. 10, 2010 in Cleburne. Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Greenacres Memorial Park in Cleburne. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Irving Harvey Sanders was born Sept. 3, 1923 in Alvarado to Milton and Rose Shumaker Sanders. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II in the 188th Infantry with the 11th Airborne. He married Leah Ruth Stogner on Feb. 8, 1950 in Cleburne. He loved gardening, playing dominos, and spending time with family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Leah Ruth Sanders in 2005, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. Survivors: Daughters, Donna Nelson of Burleson, Carla Speer of Renton, WA., Denice Capps of Joshua, Deanna Sanders of Cleburne; sisters, Ruth Gibson and Myrtis Burks; grandchildren, Devonna, Vicki, Roy, Deborah, Jimmy, Yvonne, Rachel, Stacey, and April; 10 great grandchildren.
