Jack Calvin West

Jack Calvin West was born in Fort Worth, TX on November 25, 1950, to Blanch and Olen West. He passed from this earthly home on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
Jack grew up in and around Fort Worth and Arlington, TX. He may have been an only child, but his cousins Dale, Steve and Leslie West were like brothers to him.
Jack graduated from high school at Eastern Hills High School in 1969. He enlisted in the US Navy and successfully completed boot camp. He was enjoying his first leave when he suffered severe burns ending his Navy career.
Jack married Sharon Nichols on June 4,1983. and they had 2 children, Nick and Kelli.
In Jack's working life he was a machinist for many, many years, and he was a buyer for more than one company. In his later career he was a maintenance engineer for The Vantage Senior Living in Fort Worth.
Jack was truly a "Jack of all trades" because he could fix anything. He remodeled many homes, fixed his own cars and of course all the things Sharon broke. If he didn't know how to fix something he would work on it until he figured it out. Jack not only fixed his things but was often called on to fix things for other people. After retirement Jack was always in his shop or in the garage working on some new project or interest.
Jack liked to fish and hunt. He spent many weekends on different Texas lakes with his father-in-law taking part in bass tournaments. Jack also took an interest in photography, metal detecting, blacksmithing and digging up old artifacts (bottles) in some of the older parts of Fort Worth. Chances were, if it was dirty Jack liked it.
Jack was preceded in death by his father Olen B. West and grandson Cameron Lewis.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon Nichols West and their 2 children.
Nick and Riqui West of Dallas.
Kelli and Matt Oates of Joshua.
Grandchildren: Camden Lewis of Joshua, Taybor West of Dallas, Maile West of Dallas, Kairi Oates of Joshua and Logan West of Joshua. One great granddaughter Blair Lewis.
Jack is also survived by his mother Blanch Williams and stepfather Richard Williams of Fort Worth.
Jack's kindness touched so many people during his lifetime and he will be missed greatly
