James Martin "Junior" Collins Jr.

March 17, 1930 — February 13, 2018

James Martin "Junior" Collins, Jr. 87, a retired Santa Fe crane operator, farmer and rancher in Burleson died Tuesday February 13, 2018 at home. Funeral: 10 AM Friday February 16 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Union Hill Cemetery in Joshua. Visitation: 6-8 PM Thursday, February 15 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Junior was born March 17, 1930 in Johnson Co. Texas. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Junior was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. He loved working with his cattle, gardening, camping, country music, old westerns and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents James Martin Collins Sr. and Aggie Miller, wife of 57 years, Mary Dell Lea, daughter, Judy Collins Vavrin, sister Evelyn Benson, 4 brothers: J. T. Collins, Clinton Collins, Kenneth (Punk) Collins, Billy Ray Collins. Survivors: daughter, Sharon Hawkins and husband Rocky of Joshua; daughter, Gay Morris and husband Mike of Burleson, Kathy McGlothlin and husband Allan of Cleburne, grandsons Randy Vavrin of Fort Worth, Jeremy Hawkins and Rachel of Burleson, Mason McGlothlin of Fort Worth; granddaughters Mandi Rogers and husband Gary of Willis, Sarah Fleischer and husband Richard of Corpus Christi, 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions made to the Union Hill Cemetery Association, PO Bos 12 Joshua, TX 76058.
