CLEBURNE -- James William "Jay" Lindsey Jr., 78, a retired Union Pacific transportation supervisor, passed away Monday, May 30, 2005. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Joshua. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, Burleson. Mr. Lindsey was born Jan. 10, 1927, in Fort Worth. He married Grace Berry on Sept. 3, 1948, in LaMarque. He was a World War II Navy veteran and received a Bronze Star medal. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Joshua since 1961. He lived in Joshua for 38 years and in Cleburne for six years. He was predeceased by his parents, James W. Lindsey Sr. and Faye Reynolds Lindsey; and brother, Bobby L. Lindsey. Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Grace B. Lindsey; sons, James William Lindsey III and wife, Debbie, of Joshua and Gary D. Lindsey and wife, Vicki, of Crowley; daughter, Darla Lindsey Pierce and husband, Bobby, of Benbrook; grandchildren, Kellie Lindsey Manning and husband, Tommy, Cade Lindsey and wife, Melissa, Gary Don Lindsey, Jon Lindsey, Nicole Pierce Bender and husband, Brandon, and Brittany Pierce; great-grandchildren, Parker Jay Manning, Brooklyn Elizabeth Manning, Tyler Alan Bender and Tristan Torres; brother-in-law, Alvin Berry Jr. and wife, Carla; nephews, David Lindsey and Rick Berry; and nieces, Sue Platt and Carol Berry Gloar.
