James D. "Butch" Myres

James D. "Butch" Myres, 76, of Burleson, passed away July 25, 2019 at home surrounded by family. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Burleson Opportunity Fund or Godley Athletic Booster Club.
Butch was born on August 8, 1942, in Godley, Texas. He was an employee of Lone Star Gas for 35 years. He was an active Burleson volunteer with Burleson Youth Association, Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce, and was a Burleson ISD School Board member.
He enjoyed puttering around the house, fixing all things electronic or mechanical: his grandkids often said "Just ask Paw Paw, he can fix everything." His family was his pride and joy.
Butch was preceded in death by his father, Jim Myres, mother Willie Mae Bandy Myres, and sister Ann Giles.
Survivors include wife of 58 years Genesa Myres; sister Linda Honea and husband C.W.; sons J.B. and wife Lorie, Bryan and wife Jana; grandchildren Trevor and wife Meagan, Seth, Colton and wife Morgan, and Bethany; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
