BURLESON -- James Roy Penney, 73, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at a Fort Worth hospital. Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Burleson. Interment: Mount Olivet Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. James was born Sept. 3, 1939, in Covington to Paul and Nellie Fuqua Penney. He loved his Lord and grandchildren, and always enjoyed picking them up from school. He also loved working, especially in the grocery store, and doing yard work. James enjoyed drag racing and Saturday night wrestling. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. James was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Fred Penney and Donald Ray Penney. Survivors: Wife, Mary Penney of Burleson; daughters, Patty Parker and husband, David, of Burleson, Kathie Penney of Burleson; son, Andy Penney and wife, Whitney, of Burleson; seven grandchildren; brother, Harold Penney; sisters, Ruth Casselman and Clay Dean Penney; sister-in-law, Diann Penney; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
