Janice Carol Mitchell

Janice Carol (Simpson) Mitchell passed away peacefully and was transported to her heavenly home surrounded by her immediate family on November 6, 2024, at the age of 72.

Janice was born in Andrews, Texas on February 8, 1952 to Alice Euwayne Williams and Junior Lee Simpson.
Janice then grew up in Lubbock, Texas with her parents and three older siblings: Brothers Bruce Simpson and Richard Simpson and her sister Cheri Salley.

Raised in Lubbock and graduating high school 1970, she soon met and married her loving husband of 49 years Francis (Frank) Allen Mitchell. They were blessed with three children and Janice spent these very early years raising them with Frank moving throughout Oklahoma and Texas. Eventually settling in Burleson, Texas, they spent their last 33 years of time together before Frank's passing in 2021.

Janice enjoyed a long career working for Bank One and eventually JP Morgan Chase before retiring and enjoying her days with Frank. She had a love for reading, playing canasta with family and playing Bingo.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Junior and Alice Simpson, her husband Frank, sister Cheri and brothers Bruce and Richard.

She is survived by her three children including her son Phillip Michael O'Bryan, son Lee Mitchell and daughter-in-law Audrey Mitchell, daughter Toni Miller and son-in-law Chris Miller; grandchildren Brittney Daugherty, Wade McCrory, Garrett O'Bryan, Finley Mitchell, Eleanora Mitchell, and Kaylie Miller; and great grandchildren Robin Daugherty and Maverick Daugherty.

Janice will forever live in our hearts and be remembered for her love and devotion to her family.
