Janice Gail "Sam" Phillips, 59, of Joshua, a homemaker, died Tues. October 28, 2008 at her home in Joshua. Funeral : 10:00 A.M. Saturday November 1, 2008 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: North Hopkins Cemetery in Hopkins County, Texas. Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Sam was born March 12, 1949 in Little Rock , Ark. to J.W. and Lula Jean Oswalt Faulkner. She married Kenny Phillips on Jan. 27, 1984 in Fort Worth. Sam was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved riding horses, gardening and yard work. She especially loved spending time with family and friends. Survivors: Husband, Ken Phillips of Joshua; daughters, Jackie Foster and husband Martin Evans of Joshua, Angie Nichols of Houston; step sons, Kris Phillips and wife Stephanie of Mansfield, Cole Phillips and wife Pam; brothers, Billy Faulkner and wife Julie of Rowlett, Jimmy Faulkner of Garland; sisters, Connie Faulkner of Garland, Linda Faulkner of Mabank; 6 grandchildren, David, Kiersten, Clayton, Darcie, Beth, Kinsey; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
