Jema Hollingsworth was born in Olney, Texas on November 19, 1953, to Bobby and Peggy (Graham) Roderick. After a long illness, she passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 4, 2024, a date which is now known by her family as Jema's personal Independence Day.
Jema grew up in Archer City, Texas, and later moved with her family to Burleson, Texas. She was a proud Burleson High School graduate and member of the class of 1972.
After being set up on a blind date, Jema knew she'd found the one, and in May of 1978, she married the love of her life, Billy. Together they had two children, two grandchildren and a lifetime of memories. Jema loved to make lists and write out recipes, play sudoku, cross stitch and games with friends and family. She worked as a city secretary for Joshua and later as a secretary at Joshua high school.
Jema was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Peggy Roderick of Archer City.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Billy Hollingsworth of Joshua, her daughter, Mica Martin and husband Mike of Cleburne, her son, Dayton Hollingsworth and wife Tiffany of Cleburne, grandson Greyson Martin and granddaughter, Olivia Martin, brother Joe Roderick and wife Sharon of Acher City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
