Jennie Jean Dale Grant, 73 of Burleson died Saturday June 12, 2010 in Burleson. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church in Joshua. Interment: Tye Memorial Cemetery, Burleson. Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Pleasant Hills Children's Home 292 E. US Hwy 84 Fairfield, Texas 75840. Jennie Jean Grant was born Dec. 18, 1936 in Shattuck, OK., to James William and Nettie Irene Walker Dale. She married James C. "J.C." Grant on June 5, 1953 in Amarillo. She was a devoted wife to J.C. for 57 years. She was a charter member of First Assembly of God Church in Joshua for 36 years. She served as a Deacon on the church board and taught Sunday School for thirty years. She also touched alot of lives at Performers Unlimited where she worked as a secretary. She was very active with anything for children including Pleasant Hills Children's Home, Heart for the Kids Program, and had a passion for helping the underprivileged youth and inner city children of the metroplex. She was more than generous as a grandmother, a true and honest friend, a sweet sister, a beloved aunt, and a tireless mother who always inspired her children to do their best in any endeavor. She kept her family grounded with faith and love. She will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Monte Dale. Survivors: Daughters, Shelley Grant of Burleson, Pam Grant Tatum of Burleson; sister, Dorothy Hamlin and husband, Al of Burleson; granddaughter, Ashley Tatum of Burleson; cousin, Chuck Dale and wife, Nancy of Richardson; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
