Jerrell Dean Ogden

Jerrell Dean Ogden, 87, passed away Friday, Jan. 19, 2018. He was born Sept. 28, 1930, to Elvis Preston and Bessie M. (Willis) Ogden. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Laurel Land Memorial Park, with Pastor Brian Jacobs officiating. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Jerrell had a good relationship with the Lord and was very spiritual. He ministered to residents at the nursing home with music and prayer. Jerrell was an avid fisherman. He could play any instrument by ear. Jerrell loved being outdoors, camping and hunting. He taught his children to be independent as they were growing up. Jerrell is survived by his wife, Alma Irene Ogden of Joshua; daughters, Alma Kay McClure of Joshua, Penny Gumfory and husband, Mark, of Whitney and Carroll D. Locklear and husband, Larry, of Joshua; grandchildren, Kelvin Hughes and wife, Teresa, of Joshua, Brenda Smith and husband, Jeremy, of Sachse, Jennifer Peugh and husband, David, of San Antonio, Mariah Gumfory of Yoakum, Texas, Cody Armstrong and wife, Sarah, of San Antonio and Ty Locklear and wife, Maggie, of Alvarado; and 11 great-grandchildren.
