JOSHUA -- Jewel Rogers, 97, of Joshua, a homemaker, passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, in Joshua. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. She was born July 31, 1913, in Lindsay, Okla., to Guy and Mamie Beck Addison. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Jewel loved gardening and raising flowers. She should be on a pedestal in heaven for raising all her children. Jewel loved driving, especially to the dollar store and the beauty shop. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin C. Rogers; parents; and two sisters. Special thanks to Mission Hospice and Richard, Dee, Nancy and Lisa. Survivors: Daughters, Roberta Mabry of Elk City, Okla., Lois Caldwell of Elk City, Okla., Madelene Youngblood of Burkburnett, Carolyn Rogers of Terrell, Sue Gutzman of Joshua and Sandra Russell of Rhome; son, Wayne Rogers of Tyler; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; other family; friends.
