Jill was born March 17, 1951, at Fort Clayton, Canal Zone, Panama, where her Daddy was stationed with the Army. When she was a year old the family began a series of moves, first going through airports in Jamaica, Cuba and Puerto Rico, to get to Blackstone, Virginia. Then it was to Fort Meade, Maryland; Fort Bliss, El Paso: and Orland Park, Illinois, where she accepted Jesus as her savior and was baptized. Moving again brought them to Cleburne, Tx and then to Chesterton, In, where her Dad retired from Military service. In 1968 the family moved one last time, to Burleson, Tx, where she graduated from Burleson High School in 1969. She was a member of First Baptist Church Burleson, and worked with little children for many years, both in the Church and as a babysitter.
She was employed at Thomas Conveyer, Albertson’s Distribution Center, The Burleson Star, and ESSL in various secretarial positions. She built up quite a collection of Precious Moments Characters, as well as stuffed animals. She loved to read all kinds of books and never wanted to let one go, because she might want to read it again. She really loved her dogs and always had one by her side. She spent lots of time on the computer making friends, keeping up with family members, and sharing pictures of her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Joan Edging, and her older sister Debby Epps, she is survived by her Dad, Dallas Edging, her younger sister, Judy Thompson (Mark), Nieces Katy, Lori, Sarah, and Megan; Nephews Justin and Andrew, numerous extended family members, many friends, and her faithful dog “Widgit.”
