JOSHUA -- Jim "The Boot Man" Hammond, 74, a retired maintenance supervisor, died Saturday, March 3, 2007, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Caddo Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Jim was born June 18, 1932, in Grandfield, Okla., to Robert and Deliah Foust Hammond. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Vienna Ruth Hammond, in 1975. Jim married June Hope on Sept. 5, 1976, in Joshua. Survivors: Wife, June Hammond of Joshua; sons, Gary Hammond and wife, Debbie of Virginia, Eddie Hammond of Joshua, Stephen Leck and wife, Jane of Joshua, Perry Roop and wife, Donna of Joshua; daughters, Sharon Bodine and husband, Bill of Joshua, Annette Ashcraft and husband, Mike of Joshua, Dee Bardwell of Dawson, Lynette Genson of Joshua, Janette Hensley of Joshua; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna Anderson of Burleson; mother-in-law, Christine Hope of Cleburne.
