Jim Hipkins

FT. WORTH -- Jim Hipkins, 82, of Ft. Worth, TX passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Service: 2PM Friday, February 12, Everman United Methodist Church, Everman, TX. Visitation: 6-8PM Thursdaay, Mountain Valley Funeral Home, Joshua TX. BURIAL: 2PM Saturday, February 13, Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, Oklahoma. Jim was born March 11, 1933 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Duncan and Letha (Todd) Hipkins. He was preceded in death by his wife Gemey Hipkins. Jim graduated Hobart High School, and went on to Oklahoma State University for a Certificate in Carpentry, later studying for his Civil Engineering Degree. After college graduation in 1958, he moved to the Fort worth area where he enjoyed farming and gardening for the rest of his life. Jim was a member of the Everman United Methodist Church, and had joined the Everman Historical Society, due to his love for Genealogy. Survivors: sons, Mike Hipkins and wife Shirley, David Hipkins and wife Penny; grandson, Justin Hipkins; brother in law, Johnny Branam, wife Linda, their daughter Christy Glisson; and other loving friends.
