Jim Johnson, 85, of Burleson passed away February 14, 2013, at home. Service: 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Burleson. Interment: 2:30 PM Oran Cemetery in Oran. Visitation: 6-8PM Monday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Jim was born October 7, 1927, in Troup, Texas to Luther Calvin and Velda Caroline Speer Johnson. He was preceded in death by wife, Bettye Johnson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Jim and Bettye Johnson scholarship fund at First Baptist Church of Burleson. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. Mowed many widows yards. Jim is retired from Southwestern Bell after 38 years. He was a crossing guard at Frazier Elementary for over 20 years. Jim did 53 years as a mason and served every office in the lodge except for secretary. He taught Sunday school for over 20 years and was known as Mr. "Jim". Jim was a Deacon of First Baptist Church of Burleson. Died serving others. He got to be with his sweetheart on Valentine's. Survivors: daughter, Ann Twidell and husband, David; son, Jimmy Johnson and wife, Karen; sister, Sue Still; grandchildren, Robyn McTighe and husband, Mike, Mindy Duncan and husband, Richard, Matt Hilley and wife, Deese', Alleigh Glass and husband, Eric, Bradley Johnson, Conner Johnson; great-grandchildren, Annie, Erin and Megan McTighe, Sydney, Lucey, Jackson and Tristen Hilley, Kyle Duncan; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
