BURLESON -- Jimmie Nell Pennington, 79, of Burleson, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, in Cleburne. Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Burleson Church of Christ. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Burleson. Mrs. Pennington was born July 26, 1928, in Copperas Cove to Melvin L. and Kittie Lee Bourne Coons. She married F. Troy Pennington on Feb. 28, 1948, in Hico. Jimmie was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Burleson Church of Christ. Among many things she provided transportation to and from church, doctor visits and ran erands for those who could not drive. She was a Bible school teacher, devoted to working with Christ Haven Childrens Home for many years, a babysitter to many children, and always a servant to others. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Gary Don Pennington. Survivors: Sons, Alton Pennington and wife, Janice of Joshua, Kelly Pennington of Arlington; daughter, Karen Owens and husband, Gary of Burleson; brother, M.L. Coons and wife, Dorothy of San Antonio; grandchildren, Crissy Latham and husband, Bryan, Alyson Reves and husband, Stephen, Landon Owens and wife, Julie, Justin Owens and wife, Lexie, Leah Owens, Britney Owens, Will Pennington, Dan Pennington and wife, Aubre, Matt Pennington; great-grandchildren, Brady and Carley, Ashtyn and Aubrey, Abigail and Addison; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
