Jimmy Sheffield

Jimmy L. Sheffield, 71, a retired machinist, of Burleson, passed away Tues. Feb. 2, 2010. Visitation: 5-7 pm Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park Fort Worth. Jimmy was born Feb. 28, 1938 in Hillsboro to Jim and Bertha Duke Sheffield. He married Darlene Stafford on May 14, 1957 in Ardmore, OK. Jimmy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was very devoted to his wife of 53 years. He loved fishing, car races and the outdoors. Jimmy also enjoyed his family time and spending time with them all especially the grandchildren. He was also very active at his church. His favorite scripture of comfort is psalm 23. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Brenda Jones. Survivors: Wife, Darlene Sheffield of Burleson; daughters, Lawanda Bond and husband Paul of Burleson, Lisa Havens and husband Jeff of Burleson; son, Wes Sheffield and wife Cheryl of Burleson; brother, Tommy Sheffield of Hillsboro; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
