MAYPEARL -- Jimmy Horace Swindell, 66, of Maypearl, retired owner of Big D Brake and Clutch, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in Waxahachie. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Joshua. Interment: Alvarado Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Open Door Ministry Mission Fund. Jimmy was born July 17, 1943, in Alvarado to George and Thelma Davis Swindell. He married Darline Worley on Aug. 31, 1962, in Alvarado. Jimmy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the Lord and his family. Jimmy loved listening to music by the Gaithers, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family at the ranch, making people laugh, working and especially watching his grandchildren play sports. Survivors: Wife of 47 years, Darline Swindell of Maypearl; son, Dan Swindell and wife, Sheri, of Joshua; daughters, Darla Thaxton and husband, Neil, of Joshua and Patty Kemp and husband, Jerry, of Maypearl; brothers, Herman Swindell and Billy Swindell, both of Alvarado; sister, Bernie Terry of Mabank; grandchildren, Brandon Wilson, Clint Albers, Nealla Thaxton, Erica Thaxton, Landon Swindell and Sheridan Swindell; great-grandchild, Paisley Albers; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
