AZLE -- Joe E. Davis, 71, a retired counselor for the Texas Commission for the Blind, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Fort Worth. Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Southwood Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Burial: Caddo Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Joe was born May 23, 1936, in Old Glory to Earl and Gladys Anderson Davis. Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He dedicated his life to vocational education and helping people. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Joe was a master Mason and a member of Julian Feild Masonic Lodge 908 in Brazoria. He also served as a city council member in Pelican Bay. Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie "Smokey" Davis; son, Lanny Mack Davis; and nine siblings. Survivors: Wife, Catherine Davis of Azle; daughters, Deborah Dilworth of Lubbock, Michele Fulton of Arlington; sons, Patrick Glen Davis of Fort Worth, Michael Joe Davis of Granbury; sisters, Manita Rodden of California, Glinda Harrington of Oregon, Phyllis McNeely of Rochester, Texas; grandchildren, Joshua, Tad, Grant, Logan, Nolan and Maximas Davis.
