GODLEY -- John Gordon DeLozier, 83, of Godley, passed away Sat. March 10, 2012 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 2 pm Sat. at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. John was born April 15, 1928 in Vermillion County, Ill. He was a man with passion for adventure, nature and the love of his family and his country. He served his country in WWII and then in the late 40s went on to Alaska and become entrepreneur and had a huge passion for hunting and flying his bush plane. He then took up a love for speed by racing stockcars and motorcycles. This earned him several stockcar state championships, which in turn earned him the nickname of "Lead Foot Johnnie". He then retired taking on a whole new adventure by moving to California. It was there he established a ranch to raise horses. The excitement leads him to a particular breed of horses, the Peruvian Paso. To this day he is known for being one of the few individuals to have established this strong breed in the United States. He will be missed, but always remembered as a son, a brother, a friend, a husband, a dad, a grandpa and even a great grandpa.
