Jon Diego Monreal
January 11, 2005 - May 15, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the tragic passing of Jon Diego Monreal, who left us on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the age of 19, due to a plane crash.
Jon was born in Burleson, Texas, on January 11, 2005, to Juan and Brenda (Solis) Monreal. From a young age, Jon, affectionately known as Diego or Jonny, displayed a remarkable spirit and zest for life. He was known for his infectious smile, kind heart, and the ability to bring joy to everyone around him.
Diego had been playing soccer since he was a young boy, surpassing all of our family's wildest expectations with his exceptional talent and dedication. He played on many club teams and even made Varsity as a sophomore. He graduated from Crowley High School in the top 20 percent of his class with an Associate's degree in Fine Arts.
In August 2023, Diego embarked on his pilot journey. He completed his aviation training course and obtained his solo student pilot license. His first solo flight was on December 20, 2023. Diego had a deep love for the sky and its beauty. He often took pictures of the sky to capture the moment, sometimes asking his mom to pull the car over so he could snap the perfect shot. He always spoke about how beautiful it was to fly and see the world from a different perspective.
Diego is survived by his loving parents, Juan and Brenda Monreal (Solis); his brother Dusty Solis and his spouse Lori of Burleson, Texas; his brother Daniel Solis and his spouse Regina of Crowley, Texas; and his brother David Ramirez and his spouse Karrie of Cleburne, Texas. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be deeply missed by all his family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate Diego's life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 1:30 pm at Joshua Methodist Church, 114 Paula Dr., Joshua, Texas.
Diego's legacy of love, kindness, and passion will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will forever be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, and the light he brought into the world.
Rest in peace, Diego. You will be forever missed and never forgotten.
