Jonell Thompson

Jonell Thompson was born in Groesbeck, Texas on June 8th, 1927, to William and Ara Dossey. She passed away peacefully Monday, December 5th, 2022, and began her transition wrapped in the love of her heavenly home. Jonell grew up on the small community farms surrounding Groesbeck, Texas with her parents and siblings: Lorene, Elmer, Floy, Ray, and Billie.

Jonell finished her schooling and started a family while working for the Rio Vista State Bank, Daren Simpson Insurance Co., & The Clary Bradbury Agency. She and her devoted husband of 57 years moved to Burleson in 1963, and she became the secretary for Nola Dunn Elementary, where she enjoyed helping the children. She enjoyed a long retirement of RVing and antiquing the country road of Texas.

Jonell was preceded in her final journey by her mother, father, brothers, and sisters.

She is survived by: her daughter, Sandi, son, Tommy, four grandchildren: Derek, Angela, Kristen, Jessica, and seven great grand-children: Addison, Kitley, Luke, Ryker, Grayson, Norah, and Olivia.

Jonell’s dedication to family lives on in us forever.
