Mr. Joseph P. Thomas, age 94, of Joshua Tx, went home to the Lord on July 18, 2022. He was born on March 10, 1928 in Fort Worth, Tx to J.E. and Margaret Thomas.
He received a bachelors and masters in chemistry from Texas Wesleyan University and Oklahoma State University. He served honorably as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War. Following the Army, he worked as the lead man for the adhesives division at General Dynamics. He taught chemistry, biochemistry, physical science and more as an instructor at El Centro College in Dallas for 30 years. Additionally he was a farmer and rancher, running Caddo Grove Farm for over 50 years.
Joe was active in his church, serving as a deacon, in the choir and Sunday School. He had a love for music and was almost always singing or whistling hymns while he worked. He loved the Lord and his family and was an example to others of how to work hard and lead a quiet, godly life.
He is survived by his wife, Freddie Thomas, son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Courtney Thomas, grandchildren Joseph and Violet Thomas, and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Waldo Thomas, Edward Thomas, Gene Thomas, David Thomas and his sister, Lorna Price.
Visitation will be July 24th, 4:00 - 6:00 and the funeral July 25th at 11:00 at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, 3407 SW Wilshire Blvd, Joshua, TX 76058.
