BURLESON -- Joy Dunlap, 83, of Burleson, a retired licenced vocational nurse, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 17, 2009, at a local nursing home in Burleson. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday in Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Joy Geneva Dunlap was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Cement, Okla., to Millard and Ruby Rimer Plowman. She married Grady V. Dunlap on July 25, 1942, in Tarrant County. She was a Class of '57 graduate of All Saints Nursing School in Fort Worth. She was a member of Calvary Church in Fort Worth, a strong Christian woman, and loved planting and taking care of her roses. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; one brother; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Marie Phillips. Survivors: Son, Larry Dunlap and wife, Jeanne, of Sam Rayburn; daughter, Judy Wiggs and husband, Roger "Ricky," of Burleson; four brothers; four sisters; five grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
