Joyce Ann Nelson was a picture of beauty from head to toe. She had a mind that possessed the sharpest wit, strong opinions, and a love of learning. Her eyes danced when she laughed and shone with pride at her tribe! Her ears lovingly listened. Her mouth told the funniest stories, spoke incredible encouragement, wisdom gained by a life truly lived, relayed with gracious kindness and ceaseless praise for her Savior. Her heart, shaped by both iron will and grace, was fiercely loyal to those she loved and yet, always had room to love one more. Her small hands relentlessly made meals, wrote cards, played games, worked puzzles, hugged, and never shied from hard work. Her lap was safe harbor and throne as she rocked children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and those she loved as her own. Her feet walked the path set before her with matchless class, dignity, humor, courage and daunting faith. She was daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. How blessed we were to know this beauty firsthand. Preceded to heaven by Husband, Jerry Wayne Nelson Sr. Parents C.I. and Donna Maxine Ward. Brothers Alton (Bud) Ward and Frank Ward.
