Joyce Earlene (Newby) Strickland

Joyce Newby Strickland was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 18, 1961. She passed away peacefully and headed to her heavenly home surrounded by her family and friends on June 28, 2024.
She was the daughter of C.O. and Beatrice Newby (Smith) of Burleson. Joyce attended school in Burleson Texas from grades K-12 and graduated from Burleson High School in 1979.
Joyce met the love of her life Randy Strickland, October 1978 and married March 28, 1980. She spent her life raising her three children and loving her five grandchildren. Joyce's voice and contagious laughter could be heard cheering on her kids and grandkids in all their activities whether on a ballfield, court, or racetrack. She loved her family dearly and took great pride in the friendships she made throughout her childhood that she maintained throughout her whole life.
She was preceded in death by her parents C.O. and Beatrice Newby and sister Darla Stubblefield of Burleson, father-in-law Steve Strickland, multiple aunts, uncles, niece, nephew, and cousins.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Strickland of Burleson; brother, Gary Newby and wife Judy of Arkansas; children, Alan Strickland and wife Dawn of Burleson, Andy Strickland and wife Kristin of Burleson, Amanda Coxsey and husband Billy of Sanger; her grandchildren Stella Strickland, Myla Strickland, Hudson Strickland, Drew Strickland, Ezra Coxsey, mother in law Nina Strickland, sister in law Teri Stinson and husband David, and sister in law Kelly Man and husband Johnny along with numerous aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
