Joyce Marie Taylor, 78, left this life to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, May 29, 2014. Service: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Interment: 3 p.m. Tuesday in Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina. Visitation: 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Joyce was born July 1, 1935. She was the youngest of nine children born to Tom and Wencie Lee in Lavida. Joyce married Buck Taylor on May 31, 1969. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joyce was an active member of Crestmont Baptist Church in Burleson for many years until her health started failing. She and her husband moved to Hico and joined First Baptist Hico. Joyce enjoyed her church life. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, spiritual and country and western music. She loved doing family activities, games, fishing, hiking, and spoiling her grandchildren. The family wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation for the wonderful loving care given to Joyce by Hico Nursing and Rehabilitation, Odessy Hospice and to First Baptist Hico for their many visits and prayers. Survivors: Joyce is survived by her husband, Buck; sons, Jerry Ferrell of Oglesby, Stonie Ferrell of Gatesville and Donald Ferrell of Denver, Colo.; daughters, Melissa Kale of Hico and Kimberly Stokes of Burleson; brother, Ray Lee of Chandler; sisters, Naomi Bietner of Florida, Frankie St. Romain of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; extended family; and friends.
