JOSHUA -- Karen Landers-Hanford of Joshua passed peacefully from the arms of her loving family into the loving arms of her Lord, Friday Dec. 12, 2008, at the age of 47. Funeral: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel, 3407 SW Wilshire Blvd, Joshua. Pastor Kevin Hymer will officiate. Interment: Karen will be laid to rest at 2:00 P.M. in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie. Visitation: 7-9 P.M. Tuesday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Memorials: Friends who desire are respectfully invited to honor her memory with contributions in her name to Fairpark Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Karen was born Oct. 11, 1961 in Kenmare, North Dakota, the daughter of Ruby (Jorgensen) and Irwin Landers. Karen taught public school for 11 years before devoting full time to raising and home schooling her daughters. She was a faithful member of Fairpark Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. We know as believers, this is a brief goodbye and we will join her in heaven. Survivors: Husband Don and daughters, Marcia, Katie, and Suzi of Joshua; parents, Irwin and Ruby Landers of Jamestown, ND; sisters Susan Roemmich of Jamestown, ND, Donna Gill of Rockford, IL; brothers, James Landers of Kansas City, MO, and Denis Landers of Rockford, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended-family members.
