Kathy Lynn Bryan was born near Lubbock, Texas on May 31st, 1949 to George and Annie Downs, 1 of 4 daughters. She received her reward of the Kingdom of God in Burleson, Texas on June 19th, 2021 and departed this world to take up her position with Jesus.
Kathy was a graduate of Monterrey High School and an Honors graduate of South Plains College where she received the Presidents Honor Roll award along with multiple others functional and proficiency awards. She left South Plains College with her Licensed Vocational Nursing license and began a career in changing and saving lives. She ended her career running the medical department at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Institutional Division's JT Montford Unit and Texas Tech Health Sciences center organization. She a very well respected and admired leader who did God's work through her hands and heart of compassion that left a lasting impact on everyone that knew her.
Kathy loved to spend time with her family, her best friend Sheila, her most precious Jiggy, and being the life of the party. Traveling, eating well, being an amazing Mother and Grandmother, being a great friend, a giver of wisdom, and giving out laughs and hugs were all part of her daily routine. She was a woman of God who will forever leave an imprint on the lives of those who knew her and loved her. We will always remember her famous line of " Say Not, Say So " and her most favorite scripture of Philippians 4:6 " Do not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything".
Kathy is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Kevin and Samantha Bryan, and her grandchildren, Ashley / Kaitlyn / and Jaedn Bryan.
Services will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 25th at Open Door Church in Burleson Texas. ( 301 S. Dobson Rd. ) for a celebration of her life and the Lord.
