Kelly Mason Polson

November 29, 1943 — November 14, 2024

Kelly Mason Polson, born on November 29, 1943, in Cleburne, Texas, to William David and Opal Juanita (Peterson) Polson, passed away Thursday afternoon on November 14, 2024, at the age of 80. Kelly dedicated much of his life to helping others and sharing his passion for nature with those around him. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966, where he honed the discipline and commitment that would define his life. After his military service, Kelly joined the Fort Worth Fire Department in 1970. Over the next 27 years, he worked tirelessly for his community, eventually retiring as Captain in 1997. His colleagues remember him as a skilled and compassionate leader, who was always ready to lend a hand or offer guidance. But those who knew Kelly best will also remember him as an avid outdoorsman, especially for his love of fishing. He was known for his exceptional fishing skills and shared his knowledge generously with family, friends and anyone eager to learn. For Kelly, fishing was more than a hobby; it was a way to connect with nature and the people he loved. On July 31, 1999, Kelly married his wife Jami, with whom he shared 25 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures. Kelly's commitment to his family and his devotion to his wife were unwavering. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Sondra Allen, and grandson Zachary Elshaarawy. Kelly is survived by his wife Jami, son James Polson and wife Holly, daughter Robin Polson, brothers David Polson and wife Janet, Charles Polson and wife Joyce, Randy Polson and wife Valerie, sisters Tommie Dial, and Vicky Kroon and husband David, and numerous Nieces and nephews. Kelly will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all the lives he touched.
