Larry Lee Young

Larry Lee Young of Lampasas, Texas, passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2015. He was born June 11, 1945, in Crowley, Texas, to Johnnie Young and Ruth Pope. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at Bethesda Cemetery in Burleson with Pastor Norman Sheffield officiating. Larry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved ranching, cows, tractors and farming. He worked for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office as a chief deputy under Stewart Huffman and was a retired president of a private prison system. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Ruth Young, sister, Dorthie Love, daughter, Cherry Young, and son, Jeffrey Young. He is survived by his wife, Glenna Young of Lampasas; daughter, Kimberely and husband, Michael DuQue, of Mansfield; son, Daniel Lee Young of Holdenville, Okla.; niece, Nancy Love Lawrence; eight grandchildren, Heather, Philip, Bobby, Amanda, Jacob, Lauren, Trevor and Felica; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Royce Young and wife, June.
