Larry Gene Young II, 34 of Joshua, a locksmith, died Wednesday May 25, 2011 in Burleson. Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday in Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Larry was born Feb. 4, 1977 in Houston to Larry Gene and Janis Diane Dabbs Young. He married Ashley Denise Avarello on Oct. 6, 2007 in Joshua. He enjoyed playing the guitar, loved music, and the Beatles. He liked traveling, camping, fishing, the outdoors, and his barn. He was a very devoted husband and father and he loved his children dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Gene Young; grandparents, Chester and Ruth Young and John Dabbs. Survivors: Wife, Ashley Young of Joshua; son, Larry Gene Young III; stepson, John Chambliss; daughters, Marisa Young, Molly Young; stepdaughters, Taylor Chambliss, Megan Chambliss; mother, Jan Halfin and husband, Barry of Houston; grandmother, Genell Dabbs of Beaumont; brothers John McLaughlin of Santa Barbara, CA., Michael McLaughlin; sister, Kristen Brady and husband, Omar Castillo of Houston; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
