Larue Hartford Sanderson

JOSHUA, TX - LaRue Hartford Sanderson, 84, went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2019. He was surrounded with love and family. His last breath on earth was his first breath in Heaven. Visitation will be held at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua on Monday, June 24, 2019 from 6pm - 8pm. Funeral services will be held at Lane Prairie Baptist Church in Joshua on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 11am.
LaRue is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marlene Sanderson; his son, Jeff Sanderson; his daughter Celia Scharnhorst and husband Bruce; his daughter, Tracie Ramirez and husband Tod; his 4 grandkids, Jeff Sanderson Jr., LaRae Humes and husband Tyler; Ryan Ramirez, and Austin Scharnhorst; his great grandchildren, Harper & Thompson Humes; and many nieces and nephews.
LaRue was born on September 19, 1934 to Aaron Losson and Lottie Mae Perkins Sanderson in Cleburne, TX. He worked at Texas Electric Service Company for 40 years in the Meter Reading and Collections departments. (Oh, the stories he could tell.) He met his wife, Marlene in 1954 and they were married February 26, 1955. They have been long time members at Lane Prairie Baptist Church. LaRue was known for his jokes and his FIRM handshake. Once you met him, you felt like you had made a life-long friend. He was always willing to help others in need. He was not only a big man in stature, but in heart. He was a very loving and giving man. The greatest gift he gave his children was teaching them about the love of Jesus. It's comforting to know his last breath here on earth was his first breath in Heaven.
