Lawrence Moertle

JOSHUA -- Lawrence "Larry" John Moertle, 85, a retired squadron commander, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, in Fort Worth. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National National Cemetery. Larry was born June 21, 1923, in Eden Valley, Minn., to John and Kay Kramer Moertle. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He married Betty Walker on April 22, 1949, in Santa Monica, Calif. Larry loved fishing, horses, waterskiing and hunting. Survivors: Wife, Betty Moertle of Joshua; sons, Randal Jay Moertle and wife, Dixie, of Lockport, La., Larry Dean Moertle of Joshua and James Alton Moertle and wife, Lorraine of Clear Lake, Calif.; daughter, Debora Ann Kirby of Plano; grandchildren, Shane Davis Kirby, Ashley Nicole Morgan, Cassie Rene Morgan, Tajia Dawn Moertle and Jasmine Arial Moertle; extended family and friends.
