Leo Keating, 87, of Burleson, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014. Service: 2PM Wednesday, January 8, Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation: 6-8PM Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Ft. Worth. Leo was born December 2, 1926, in Panola County, Texas, to Jim Richard and Emma Odessa Burks Keating. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oleta McClure Keating, 2 sisters, Donella Jimmerson, and Marie Simpson; and 3 brothers, Harold Keating, Glen Keating, and Doug Keating. Leo was a longtime Burleson area resident, having spent time working on the MKT (Katy) Railroad. He was retired from Burleson Independent School District, and a member of Boulevard Baptist Church. Leo was a special Dad and Grandad, who's family time was very important to him. He loved to garden, and excelled in woodworking. Survivors: sons, Mitchell Keating, and wife, Donna, of Burleson, Jerry Keating, and wife, Mary Lou, of Alvarado, Gary Steven Keating, and wife, Jamie, of Alvarado; daughters, Paula Smith, and husband James, of Burleson, Ruth Keating and husband Barry Allen, of Burleson; grandchildren, Jim Mitchell Keating, James Smith Jr., Julie Benton, Blake Keating, Zack Thompson, Jake Keating; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Jo Ann Gary, Lanette Els, Lillie Chadwick; and many other loving extended family and friends.
