Cecil "Leroy" Shoecraft Jr., earned his wings on Saturday May 11, 2019 at home in Burleson, Texas surrounded by family after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1PM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in the Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel, Joshua, Texas.
Leroy was born in Newberry, Michigan on February 4, 1936 to Cecil and Theo Shoecraft. He will be remembered by family and friends for his love of camping, fishing and the outdoors. Leroy was a skilled mechanic and had a knack for fixing things. He had a contagious smile, a wonderful laugh with rosey cheeks which gave him the nickname of "Pink PawPaw" to his grandchildren who he loved dearly . His kids will always remember his teaching of great values and responsibilities. He will also be remembered for his caring heart and willingness to help others. Leroy proudly served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany as corp of engineer.
He is survived by his sons, Ronnie, David and Wesley Shoecraft; his daughters, Laurie Roten and Vicki Lucus, life partner Donna Cawthon; many grandchildren great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and innumerable close family and friends.
